It was hotter than it is now 900 years ago BEFOR it when into the "little ice age" For 300 years the bears didn't have a problem. The earth moves in cycle it's just the way it is.Only the sun can change the temperature of the earth.


mGoLos : co2 has very little effect on the earth there by vulcanos don't really matter. Look up the history of co2 levels you will see they have little to no effect. Earth is colder and hotter based on solar activity.

I would think that the Earth is getting hotter because of the sun getting hotter - which a lot of scientists are saying now; Mars is getting hotter, too - and also because of the emisions everyone in the world is putting out, (except for maybe the Australian aborigine, hope I spelled that right, ha!).

Well the sun IS a giant ball of growing power. I wouldn't think it would grow that fast though, so something else is influencing it too. Funny how a stupid commercials sparks an eco-discussion. :P

Ok, first, saying only the sun makes the earth hotter is self contradictory to saying that the earth moves in cycles. The cycles are caused by CO2, so although CO2 has a HUGE impact on temperature, it acts as a temperature regulator which causes the earth to heat up, it is absorbed into the sea and comes back up from volcanos. CO2 is good, it is meant to do that, its called the greenhouse effect (natural). but that is not what scientists say is causing harm to the earth, its EXCESS amounts of CO2, but also many other chemicals. NO scientist believes we have no effect on the world's temperature, but they do disagree on how much, and whether it makes a difference. Get your facts streight 1MONKEY1, you only repeated the beginning of an argument against the idea of global warming, but you showed in that one paragraph that you don't understand the argument you attempted to explain.
