YE mythbusters tried this out and it was BUSTED. it isn't true
i mean yes the tyreo pressure and extra wight will effect but i'm sure dose numbers are exaggerated

no, it's plausible. the acetone would be used to break up the surface tension of the gasoline a bit: effectively turning those super-tiny little vapor bubbles of gasoline into even tinier vapor bubbles. more vapor bubbles means less distance between molecules, and therefore a faster/more effective combustion would occur. I currently use this in my WRX, BUT!!!!!! important note: I have a User Tunable engine computer that I have plugged into my laptop and I had to turn down the fuel just a bit. It was running just a little on the rich side after this, but enough that it would be out of the ECU correctable range in some non-tuned cars. be careful, and use only a VERY LITTLE amount.

I dont know about the Acetone, but his results are unsupportable. He doesnt say where he went and if it was consistent with all the travels(HWY or CITY), how long his stops were and idling times. Traffic can play a big role too. All in all his results are trash for true results would take much more data then 3 times of trying something different.

Tell me, does it work with diesel? I would be interested to know. At any rate, if you have a diesel car you can easily and effectively get over 300mpg. You simply install a $1300 kit in it that enables you to start your car on diesel and run it on used waste vegetable oil from restaurants that is given away free. You don't pay for gas, it is better for the environment, and no one has ever fought a war over used vegetable oil. If you only count the diesel used to start the car, you are getting over 300mpg that you actually have to pay for on average.

Oh yea, but gas companies in America don't want you to know that, which is why diesel cars offered everywhere else in the world (including by american manufacturers) are not available here.
