well, for people who actually make things as opposed to consuming them - it's very useful.

Say you want to replace a window panel on your door. You can now grab some old glass from your garage and make it fit. You could make a picture frame and size your glass perfectly for your photo and frame.

People who are into making arts and crafts, interactive art, home do-it yourselfers, would all find this useful. Heck, I bet my grandmother already knew the trick from all the glass window art she's done.

If all you need to do is make straight cuts - it is a bit easier to just get a 10" or 14" tile snapper.

Also, guys i just try'd it with picture frame glass, it doesnt work well, you need it to be a small thin pice of glass otherwise this trick doesnt work at all.
