if someone killed my cat because of incompetence like that i'd go on a warpath. Of course they should be compensated for the emotional loss...not that it would make anyone feel any better.

Look cat or dog , if you feed something, care for it , tend to it , spend money for it (food,ect) i think its more than property its a true family member( kind of sounds like you son/daughter huh?). Man most of our pets are treated as a human being, for some people it can be right or wrong i don't care if my dog\cat dies from a food manufacture didn't check on it, (its like the same case with the Spinach Ecoli thing) I would so be in a rage might find my self in jail for my damn Dog, thats right for my dog.

I believe the story is still not out on how the crap got in there in the first place. Nothing is saying that we still might have some cans in our possession. Where's the list of what kind of pet food we need to keep an eye on, and the dates we need to advoid?

As for the companies that are supplying this food, they obviously should have some consequences that come from their lack of keeping up standards and ensuring that they are producing a quality product. People should definitely get some sort of compensation due to their sloppiness with their product and standards

The ingredient you want to watch out for is wheat gluten which is used to thicken the gravy part of canned food. I'm so glad I wasnt feeding my cat any of the foods on the list. She's definately a family member in my eyes and I'd be devistated if she got sick...

The best way to feed a dog is to make a kind of soup with rice some veg and meat (one of those dog sausages) , much better for their health and a lot cheaper.

Everybody has to realize the FDA does not give a shit about us. From bad gluten in dog food to bad green onions in Chi Chis to bad tomatoes in Sheetz. They let these big companies buy food from Mexico that uses human waste as fertilizer. Then they wonder why people get sick. Then they allow drugs to go on the market that kill us because there is billions of dollars at stake.
It is time to make these government agencies accountable also. Especially if they knew it beforehand
