All this is very nice, and I'm not just dismissing it, I've read a lot of Hawking's, Sagan's, and Maxwell's work. My bookshelf is filled with Michio Kaku books and Hawking's Brief History Of Time and New Brief History of Time, as well as the Universe in a Nutshell and a few more independent works. However this video actually confused me a little bit.
If matter nor light can escape the event horizon of a black hole, how come when two black holes merge, you get a massive outburst of light through the axial direction? Doesn't this beat the point of "light doesn't escape"?

I love it how he even classifies the note of the black hole, B flat, 57 octaves below middle C

Let me explain to you why we still squabble over feeble resources instead of working together all the time in a very layman fashion.

While some people are naturally inclined to science and to further mankind with minimal self interest most people dont really give a shit about other people, unless the whole community is at risk (say aliens invading for example heh).
It's percieved to theese individuals as far more rewarding to reap immidiate selfish benefits or that they simply deserve and/or know better. Thats why we used to have monarchs and today have politicians.

While we easily could irrigate deserts and make every fucking single country flourish... actually...nevermind

Let me simplify.

Greed. Selfishness. Power.

@IonAphis,

"If matter nor light can escape the event horizon of a black hole, how come when two black holes merge, you get a massive outburst of light through the axial direction? Doesn't this beat the point of 'light doesn't escape'?"

I'm not exactly sure I understand the question but I'm going to assume you mean the jets of gas coming out from the black hole perpendicular to the accretion disk.

The reason for this is that due to the motion of the accretion disk, a lot of matter comes together and collide with one another. This creates of energy around the accretion disk and cause jets of hot gas to shoot out perpendicular to it in both directions. These gases and everything in the accretion have not yet pass through the event horizon. So with enough energy they can be shot out back into space.

there not your theories, there already well documented theories of scientists..shame on trying to claim them...

Yes Erico is right. My theory on the ejecting matter is that the immense expulsion force causes the matter to exeed the speed of light. It is the only way it can escape the gravitational pull of the black hole. ;)

wrong Blue_devil(in your first post), we fight for the apple because there is no way yet to reach to the so called apple trees, and there wont be for a very long time, but if you feel ashamed of the human race's fights so far, when we tap into that energy what do you think will happen?, we all live happily ever after?, lol there is still much combat to come, you will never escape it >:)

And the Concept of black holes isn't all that hard to grasp, there points created in many ways, collapsed stars etc... there very dense because of thier extremly strong gravitation pull, thats also why you never see any black holes split or spread apart, they just keep consuming matter fueling the process, you also cant see a black hole, you only know its there by relitivity, by observing its surrounding stars, light etc... that are affected by its presence.

Ive seen and read alot about black holes and other space phenomenon, but havent seen any info on the true final stages, I would suppose that if there were something strong enough to somehow disrupt the gravity of a black hole there would be a massive release, similar to whats known as a big bang, as im sure it would be, think of all the matter and light it would compress and consume for years. But theres a flaw in that theory, proof and evidence of something capable of setting a black hole off like that.

Id agree with the previous comments though about black holes being a gravitational system, thats exactly what they seem to be, they hold other things in place with there pull, kinda like our sun holding our planets in place, at least for the time being >:)

No, the ejected matter does not surpass the speed of light, it was merely orbiting the accretion disk so it had not passed into the event horizon

Just a question, but does anyone know where our gagalctic central point is?
