Black holes actually do defy the laws of physics. The KNOWN laws of physics. Thats why the theorys might be so outrageous, and that's why even the smartest people havent figured them out. Hawkins thought he had it, but theres still alot of unknows in the theory.

Its amazing with how violent the universe is that we are somehow still alive.

so what this video is really saying is that, at any time we could all be sucked up by a black hole and there is nothing we could do about it?????

its gonna take some to go fuck you and all your theorys that we no and come up with the most crasist but simple idea on black holes and that most probly be right

black holes are a result of the gravitational break down of a dead star.its gravitational pull is so strong that even electromagnatic waves like light are not spared.

black holes culd be in gateways into other demensions or univerces,or they culd be gient jet engins sucking in anithing in its path and spitting it out at unimmaginable speeds

Pffft, all they have to do is crawl into Oprah's butthole, of course it's doubtful anyone could survive in there.

Wormholes are pure mathematical bullshit. Shows like this take advantage of scientific illiteracy. Just because you can't comprehend everything they tell you, it doesn't mean they aren't feeding you a load of complete bullshit.

Hawkins said there are 2 theory's about how the universe would end
1.the force of gravity generated from black holes located at the center of galaxies and the gravity from dark matter is strong enuf to ultimately pull all matter in a single point (a huge black hole)
2.the force of gravity in not strong enuf and eventually all matter will break down into nothingness (atoms so far away that they can't form molecules)
my best bet is that the universe will eventually collapse onto itself into a single point and when that happens it produces the big bang (still need a theory to explain why that happens)...in a never ending cycle
in my theory there are many universes but they are so distant they do not influence one another ...
the question about the end of the universe must be answered and also the basic question of why matter and energy exist
this theory does not require for a god or other dimensions superimposed one on top of another and it implies no form of existence after death but we/i know to little to draw a definitive conclusion!
there is existence and nonexistence there is truth and falseness there is matter and energy , reason and nonsense
there is good and evil ....0 and 1
all that we know is that everything has a base and that base has a dualistic form
he have not yes managed to understand and answer why this dualistic interconnected form exists
from religion to science from math to logic ...they are all interconnected by this dualistic base
we managed to answer HOW they are interconnected in some form but fail to answer WHY!
how and why being the basis of our understanding

@Peter Silva

You can be either an astrophysicists, maybe a physicists but you wouldn't be dealing with black holes and worholes directly, or a cosmologist (like steven hawking.

The theory of relatavity actually predicted the existance of black holes. An experiment done during a solar eclispe actually confirmed the existance of black holes.

Generally, the world of physicists can be described as two theories that have yet to be reconciled. Relativity works in the macroscopic world and can tell us this about baseball trajectories and stellar ordbits and such. Quantum theory can tell us but only in probabilties the state of very small objects like atoms and their constituent parts. Both theories cannot really tell us what goes on inside a singularity.

I don't think scientists make black holes out to be a threat. They only say these things more or less to get ordinary people interested.

If I were to say yeah, a black hole is just super dense matter with an event horizon where light can't escape. Where as I could say (especially for tv science specials) that black holes are enormous and at the center of the milky way lays a super massive black hole 1 billion billion times the size of our sun able to goble up anything that it comes into contact with.

@Nirah

Yes, black holes aren't technically "holes" as the name might imply. If you could hypothetically travel to a black hole then you will find that it neither a hole nor has a surface. Its just a point much like a point you can draw a piece of paper, yet even a point you draw on a piece has some width and length to it. Points much like a line with no width can be hard to visualize but no one can deny their existence.

Btw, Black holes don't goble up everything that it comes into contact with. Perpendicular to its accretion disk black holes spew out gigantic jets of gas. They are "messy eaters".
