Halliburton must be thinking of starting up a medical facility. This was simply an investment.

its honestly bullshit, the military should take care of its own logistics, not throw money at some private company ( of course not just any private company, its cheney's company) to do jobs that the soldiers could do themselves. Why spend ridiculous amounts of money too feed soldiers when you could have soldiers working the mess cooking and serving chow or doing laundry...

...anyone know how much haliburton's stock has gone up?

ya know, when i was in iraq(2004-2005.5) @ Tuz airbase, we could smell the clorine in our water! it was nuts! BUT... KBR, Haliburton, was no where to be seen. we had to get and decon our own shower water. We had bottled water for drinking but damn! if you want it done right you got to do it your self i guess. i feel for the boys and girls over there now! God Bless you all!

If it's true then it's way sad, but I would question the validity of the video first. How do we know he "actually" worked for Halliburton?

We are told to not drink our bathing water. We are told to not even brush our teeth with the stuff. We are told it is contaminated. Right from the get go we are told these things. We are told there are some bad things in the tap water. We use bottled water to brush our teeth. At least that is what we are told to do. The Military is not as uninformed as that guy thinks we are.

What you all just saw was propaganda. If you believe it, then you are just not very well informed on how things actually take place over in Iraq.

Back in 04-05, the job KBR (That is who actually does the contact work in Iraq) was pretty good. They constantly worked outside of what they were required to do. In 06, they have now taken so many punches by the media...they wont touch a thing that their contract doesnt specifically say they can. Which does not do a whole much for anyone not at the main Operating bases over there. I would consistantly try to get them to do things that no military members had the expertise to do, but thanks to all the hits the media and general public they have taken, their employees will get fired if found out.

Here could be another reason for no cholorine in the water. They probably were not responsible for putting it in the water. It very well could be my own bretheren in the military not doing it. I dont know. But I know I and my friends know NOT to drink that water. Or open our eyes in the shower. Or brush our teeth with that stuff.

By the way commandercool, The food in Iraq is the biggest motovating factor in country. The food that we have at the chow halls is just simply outstanding. If it was military supplying our own food.. we'd be eating T-rations for dinner. If you are not familiar with t-rats... they are disgusting.

I eat better in Iraq than here at home. And my wife is an outstanding cook. Take that great chow away and that would only be taking away one of the few things most of us look forward to each day in country. I'm thankful for the chow that is served in country, simply because I do know it could be much much much worse.

He is right about that. We are usually advised as to whether the water available through the plumbing is potable (drinkable) or not. And each unit usually has field sanitation personnel for administering chlorine tablets. However, there is still the matter of properly handling the bottled water. They didn't when I deployed, and m best friend got not one, but several kidney stones from it. The largest was 5mm.

Wow. Halliburton has shit loads of other problems and yet mass media doesn't focus on it because Anna Nicole Smith dies, Michael Jackson moves to the Middle East, Scarlet Johannson has the hottest bod in the world. I'm not arguing with the latter, but I mean fuck!
"TAKE IT LIKE A MAN! DONT FUCKING CRY YOU BABY!" Those of you thinking this should probably consider mating with human beings rather then vegetables. Secondly, when a person - man or woman - is so concerned with something that they become compassionate about it, don't condescend them. He's trying to get a message across that next to no major media service is willing to cover or is being paid NOT to cover. Who the fuck cares if they did cocaine and heroine drug tests in Vietnam or other horseshit. THAT WAS THEN THIS IS FUCKING NOW. Continuing to let governments and corrupt military officials do this shit to the men and women that are the arm and shield of the self-titled "leaders of the free world", just makes them think "hey we can get away with this, get paid $50 million a month and still get away with it. Fuck, if they do discover what we did 10-20 years down the line, who the fuck cares? We can place it on anyone we fucking want."
As much as anyone wants to hate the americans or condescend them, or anything negative against them, I have always respected what they believed in; but the principles that the once great nation were built on, their very ideals are being shattered every second cronies like these fucks live.

If Western Civilization is to protect and aid the underdeveloped and developing nations of this world, how come we can't even take care of our own?
