I went on holiday to Hastings last year (my birth place) and had some cod and chips. It was bloody wonderful, so fresh and wrapped in newspaper and everything.

Australia has a lot of fish and chip shops (mostly run by Greeks), and it's good but it just doesn't compare.

I love how under British cuisine we now have chicken tikka masala. Quality food that recently became the nations favourite food. I'd still have some fish and chips anyday.

aye not sure on where abouts, but i know its British made (adapted when curry was brought over here, we urm made it a little more to our tastes)

And yes... curry is a national dish :P though i am very upset about the decline of chippies (fish and chip shops) and increase of cost of them also.
Most of them now, are joint kebab shops

I threw up the night I ate my first fish and chips years ago.
couldn't remember what I had eaten before that meal (pretty sure that was the reason I got sick) but I'm fearful to eat any more when I visit the UK :/
