I have no idea if this really works or not. But I thought I'd post it to get your thoughts on it. If it does work than this video is only for instructional purposes only.

Yeah yeah as if it matters for an emergency vehicle to pass on the green light

if this did work you would have to turn the lights for the cross traffic red in order to avoid getting hit.

its all computerised, this wouldnt work on any old traffic light system.

the computer serving the traffic lightst would turn the others to red

well... it would work, but i dont think using a remote control will do the trick, the infrared LED in the remote does not emit enough light for that sensor to pick it up, you will need at leasr a minimum on 8 to 16 infrared leds to switch the signal, this was my capstone project in my electronics class back in 2003 and it did in fact change the light. but the problem is, most of the trafic lights with this type of sensor got a camera too, which will be so easy for the camera to pick up your signal as a strob light + you license plat number. so seriously, you will be fined up your ass and go to jail for that.

When emergency vehicles go by ALL the lights turn RED. Also the blue looking sensor at the top will start to blink alerting the traffic that an emergency vehicle is coming. I have a radar detector that flashes "emergency vehicle" when an ambulance is coming so i'll test it on that first. Cool trick idea i figure it doesnt work though.

take a video camera and record the eye of the remote, push buttons while doing this. play back the recording and see if the eye lights up. some do and some dont. but i do not believe the remote has enough power to reach that traffic sensor, most cant even reach the fucking t.v. ten feet away.

But does this mean you're going to have to reprogram the remote for each light???
