Bose is garbage. JBL or Altec Lansing are the way to go. They don't make claims about their products that defy the laws of physics.

Awesome commercial though, gave me a good chuckle.

Claims that defy the laws of physics? Yes. Bose doesn't use ordianary phsyics of putting sound out of a box. They take advantage of the way the human mind percieves sound in order to do such things as make it seem like full sound is coming through tiny speakers.

Psychoacoustics.

Sure, most of the sound is ACTUALLY coming out of the bass module, but if the human mind percieves it all coming out of the tiny speakers, and you don't have huge boxes all over your room, then IMO you have a system just as good without the giant speakers everywhere. Furthermore, since the integrated systems adjust to the acoustics of one's room (in many more ways than one can even manually set on most systems), for 99% of houses they will sound closer to reference standard than most $5,000+ systems in those same rooms.

My family uses all Bose and i gotta tell u ITS THE SHIT, and the cubes are amazing and im sure many ppl wont believe so i suggest u go to the showroom and test it out :D

I've sampled a lot of different speakers over the years and they don't hold a candle to my Klipsch Reference Series (or any other full range speaker set in the same price bracket as the Bose).

Little cube speakers are ok for a small apartment or for people that aren't picky listeners that appreciate a broad dynamic range and a fully immersive soundstage. If you want great sound, go full-range from a respected manufacturer. Bose might be the king of satellite speakers, but in the audiophile world, that's like Gold in the special Olympics.

Exactly, Hybrid2d4x4, bose speakers are not for audiophiles. An audiophile will carefully match up his speakers to his amp, eq, etc, take into account acoustics when setting up his furniture, possibly even get the building modified for sound. This type of person has also taken the time to study how to set up the equipment to sound good in the room, too. For those who are not audiophiles, Bose is probably the best way to get good sound without paying an expert to re-design the room, or those who want minimal speakers so to not wreck their interior design. It is like buying a nice Mercedes CLK500 to go fast. Sure, someone can build a muscle car or a sleeper car that will go faster and handle better, but not everyone wants to deal with all that--they just want to easily and affordibly (if you call a merc affordible) get close enough to the end result.
