If you got an old laptop that has a dead lithium battery, and you don't wanna spend 100's of dollars on buying a new one, you can try this.

oh sweet...now i can boot up my 300mhz laptop and write some word documents or play solitare and then blow my leg off and not even have apple to sue for it. Since I have a soddering gun laying around...

Pay an extra $70 or blow off my crotch? he fails to mention that laptop batteries are specially designed for LAPS, condensed high heat areas, and longterm use. I hope the next hack explains how to construct a new penis from parts we can find online, "remember, always go bigger"

^^^erm no!! they are called "notebooks" putting it on you lap will block the fans and break the system, read the samll print, since notebook batterys are especially prone to blowing up when made properly in a factory what do you think the chances of your notebook blowing up when you "hack" you battery!?

Just Remember, That MOD battery packs like that cannot give the required juice that a Lithium-ION Battery Pack can give. And Plus if you are not Technically Sound about this technique don't do it. You can end up with a serious injury or damaged laptop.

They wont explode that easily. I've done this on my older sony Vaio and it worked fine I haven't had any problems with it.

It wont explode unless you dont wire the battery well or you dont have enough ampere.

he made sure that he had enough miliampere, so yes it can give enough juice and these new batteries are lithium ion.
