Fascinating, But can this thing be a fire hazard, cause some batteries tend to explode when shorted.

Dude, homo means the same, polar just means something like pole. So same poles, a battery has a + and a - pole, because of the magnet the poles both become + or -. Then because they want to push away from each other the wirethingy starts to turn. Well maybe not exactly like that but it comes close. So Homo = same, polar = poles.
