I'm pretty certain that it's not 100% improvised. Not saying it's scripted, but I'm sure they discuss what they're going to do beforehand.

It is improvised, but they have a lot of takes and censor problems, if you've seen the outtakes you'd probably know they have plenty of time to think of stuff. A single ep takes all day.

Plus they have cues and such for different things, like in Scenes from a Hat, they point to someone if they need them to come help in a scene, and stuff like that. There's little things they do that help improve flow, but overall it's improvised.

And it's edited, like any TV show, so they get the best of whatever they shot.

Use your heads... it's on TV and they never claimed to only take a half hour to make a show.

the other thing is (and please correct me if im wrong) as trained comedians they do improve all the time so if you've been doing comedy for aslong as these guys have then performing improv is also second nature, its not like these guys are just a bunch of randoms performing improv they are trained professionals - and some of the best at that, i loved whose line
