Geez, by doing this you're only adding 2pt of spacing before your lines. Why complicate your life with those periods? Just do some line spacing modifications in Paragraph...

I totally have to say this is an effective way to trick your teacher but not exactly advantageous to you. Although some teachers prefer quantity over quality (not mine). I have to personally deem this somewhat useful in times where the teacher actually prefers to see the 5 pages instead of 4 1/2 and grade you down for it. It really depends on the teacher and should probably be used in desperate times and rough drafts which allows you to actually finish what you could not then and extend it the correct way.
