This beautiful photo was taken by Doug Murray of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida during the 'eclipse' of Saturn by the moon. That's actually Saturn there, at 8 o'clock.

Saturn is too far away to see at that magnification and even if you could the moon is too bright, thats why you can't see the milky way on a full moon night. Also any picture of the moon where you can see the craters in the middle is a composite of two pics when the moon is half full, otherwise the sun reflecting directly off of it would make it look nearly white. If you look you can see the shadows in some of the craters near the middle.
