I'm so sick of seeing these stunts performed by morons on here.

Again, any car that is FF (Front engine Front wheel drive) or FR (Front engine Rear wheel drive) is front heavy by like... a lot. A Charger is FR, So if it's in the air, it's going to tilt forward really easily and if it was airborne long enough, it'd just point to the ground nose first. The reason it flipped is because the momentum of the engines weight causes the car to act like a pendulum laterally.

Sounds complicated to some, but imagine dropping a pencil with a rubber on one end. You can guess what's going to happen.

A proper stunt car is slightly more weighted in the rear with usually lead weights. This keeps the back slightly lower than the front when in mid-air so the car lands correctly, but the difference hardly varies so the car won't rotate laterally.

To me it seems so simple and so basic. Why do idiots always do this? It'd be so much cooler if someone finally landed one.

"Saltesc" Ok that is a valid explination but its not complete. your forgetting about the suspension. the suspension on a FR car, especially in older models, are very stiff. so if you put softer leaf springs in the rear it would make that jump completely possible. the reason for this is, since their is more weight in the front the springs are more compressed. this causes the lighter rear end, which has no weight,but the same stiff leaf springs to be preloaded and as soon as that wieght is no longer applied, the rear is launched higher and faster than the front of the car.

Also proper stunt cars tend to be better reinforced structuraly. preventing flex throught the frame, its not as simple as just adding extra weight to the rear of a car. so he would have made it if the car had stiffer front springs and softer rear leaf springs, along with "some" additional weight in the back.
