Steps to insurance fraud.

1. Bring video camera
2. Overheat your car and cause to ignite. Either electrically, or heat wise. IE no very low oil, low coolant, etc.
3. Pop the hood to show the flames as they slowly eat your car.
4. Get fire extinguisher, and spray on the INSIDE where the flames did not start, but are spreading to.
5. Don't do anything but watch your car go up in flames. Not piss on your shirt, and try to snuff it out. Not nothing.
6. Open all doors, windows, hoods, etc to allow maximum airflow to fee the flames.

I don't know about you, but it seems fishy. Either the guy is dumb, or it's fraud. I'm probably guessing dumb, but it is an ugly car, fraud is common, and it may as well had some engine problems that were too expensive to repair.

Also, another side not. I'm fucking glad if I'm ever stuck in my car, and there are the smallest amount of flames, I'll be assured that everything around me is flammable including my seatbelt to make way for a quick escape. This is however after being flooded by heavy smoke filled with toxins.

Just makes you think why he, well didn't he think well this isn't gonna work so just stand there? I mean? common. Just wierd.

It definatly does look fishy. If it was my bike I would be trying to piss on it or something to put it out. Seems strange hes videotaping nothing special. Then all of the sudden it catches on fire and he does nothing but film it.

grinch has a point ;-) how can you keep your cool and keep filming your car catching on fire instead of trying to put out the flames ? it's not like the camera's attached to his head or something... c'mon

Damn Grinch you nailed every point I was about to make bout him most likley doing this on purpose.

Im in the fire department and one thing that I noted aside from the fact he most likley cooked his car on purpose is that it took a long ass time for that department to get their sh*t together. I could have had a team together and a hose on the fire within ten seconds (if that) of when that truck got on scene. Not to mention they sure wernt in a rush to charge the line as soon as it came off the truck as well, while they were all just standing there. And did anyone think of shutting down the road to protect the guys on the attack line? Obviously not.
I hate bashing my brothers, but they coulda saved more of that car than they did.

But uh... awsome video though. I enjoy car fire calls, theres so many things that can go wrong. And they usually go out real quickly so you dont have to bust you butt alot. Unless your the guy who has to bust into the cars trunk or engine compartment. Well obviously the owner took care of that already in this case (GREAT JOB MAKING IT WORSE!!!)

whether its fake or not .. from where it started and the mods done it looks like an oil line burst .. i'd say he let the oil catch on fire instead of shutting the car down immediatly

Grinch and Chris made it worth watching. I was impressed he had a fire ext. in his vehicle. What do you think the % is of people that do? They should come from the factory with one and be part of the annual inspection requirements.... but then knotheads would just shoot them at each other in the empty K-Mart parkinglot on Saturday nights.

If this yahoo did the oil guage himself, I sure hope he had a mechanic check it out, cuz I'm sure the insurance company is going to say "tough shit guy!".

The tape doesn't help his case... in fact it probably hurt.

Damn, it sure does look like he intended this for the insurance, doesn't it.

Clearly you are an idiot- Unless you are pulling a booster line, I can all but guarentee that you coudlnt pull a line and have it charged in under 10 seconds... I doubt you can don your mask that quickly. Their approach on the fire was all but text book (coming at it from an angle and knocking down the bulk of the fire prior to running up to the car). Secondly, I guess you failed to notice that the vehicle is WELL off the road, and that the engine company is set up in a blocking position. Thirdly, in about 95% of the cases, if a vehicle has an open flame in the engine compartment or the dash area, the insurance company is going to total it, so who cares if they "saved more of it"? No one should be "rushing" at car fires, because that is how FFs get injured or killed... Its a car, and as I said, once its on fire, its a total loss... no reason to get killed trying to be a hero.... And lastly, who are you to bash response times... obviously the guys in the car were idiots and spent a fair (read alot) of time dicking around... I'm sure they werent rushing to call 911...

maybe you ought to think about what you are saying before you go "bashing your brothers" as you put it..

Otherwise- cool video- clearly the driver and videographer are idiots, and yea, they probably were lookin to make a quick buck...
