its a paraglider...every humor site screwed this up. Skydivers open their chutes to slow their decent after freefalling, paraglider pilots' chutes are always open, are much larger, and are made for flying.
This pilot was practicing SIV manuevers and is definitely not a novice as they do not even teach SIV until you have many hours of regular paragliding experience under your belt. The SIV manuever as shown here is being performed over water so that if anything does go wrong, like it does here, the pilot will have a reduced chance of breaking any bones or risking serious injury. The stall shown here was a purposely induced sysmetric collapse (which was over corrected by the pilot-applied let go of the brake to rapidly causing the chute to oversute the pilot which in turn caused him to fall into it) for practice so the pilot knows how to handle it if it happens by accident.

^^^ Incorrect, It is a SIV’ (simulation d’incidents de vol, or simulation of flying incidents) in which the pilot is performing, specifically, the 'full-stall' (ie- the paraglider is not flying). The mistake here was that the pilot did not 'brake' the glider for enough time. Hence he let it fly forward while it was still behind him. The resulting pendulam action resulted in a 'gift-wrap'. This gift, if not recovered from, is not something you want to give to your loved ones.

The SAT is something completely different. U-toob it.

This is probably a novice pilot.
