After she gave birth last spring, she was kept in the hospital with complications. Twelve days after giving birth at Orlando Regional South Seminole hospital, she was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center where she became a quadruple amputee.

that's fucked up. it was a clearly because of malpractice. if they didn't mess up, they simply would have shown the records. as far as i know, before any major operation is done, the closest relatives (if the patient is unconcious) would have to KNOW and sign a release paper. that hospital is fucked up. don't go there.

Apparently she's not after HER documents (which she is able to get just by asking - hospital policy) she's wanting everyone else's in the room that she stayed in.

She was also given the choice to become an amputee, or die.
Personally I'd probably have taken the same option, with the possibilities in the future of regaining limbs (mechanical .. teh lawl) rather than die. So in effect, she chose to live and was told the possible outcomes.

Where from do you know she had the choice? And if so, where had the bacterias come from. I mean going into a hospital and having a baby, and leaving the damn hospital and have all extremities lost sounds like 3rd world country, but it seems to have happened in the USA!?

Personally, I don't think any amount of money could be considered obscene after that happening to you. Just think, really think, what it would be like to lose both your arms and legs. Being totally dependant on someone else. When you are hungry, you have to ask someone to feed you for instance.

I had two broken arms for a while and just that was almost unbearable. I can't imagine losing all my limbs forever. Although I'll always have a third leg......if you know what I mean.

Well...what the fuck? That's straight out of a horror story. All I can say is that they are clearly on their way to becoming multi-millionaires after a lawsuit, and it would be completely justified.
