Damn, there goes at least another $50 million of our tax dollars gone to waste. You have to wonder how the government can spend so much money on things like this when there are so many people living below poverty and kids starving in third world countries all over the world. I bet that $50 million would have done a lot for some parts of Africa.

There's no reason why we can't work on ourselves and problem areas of the world at the same time. This is a big country with a lot of resources.

What I'm wondering is why this pilot was hovering over a beach in the first place? It wasn't any kind of military exercise, since they don't do those in populated places. It seems he was just showing off with a plane our tax dollars bought.

The harrier has 2 tanks of water to cool the turbines when hovering. Once that runs out... You better be going fast. Same with the F-35 Lightning II

It's called economics. It's an extremely bad idea to withdrawl all military spending until all the poor people in the country have been given a sufficient free ride.
If youre too stupid or too lazy to even feed yourself in a modern society than you do not need to be encouraged and rewarded with handouts.
