How Lockpicking Works

Lock picking is a sport. Not used to commit crimes. See how vulnerable a lock is. What one man can create, another can destroy. Like every other video, this is for educational purposes only.

I was a repoman in college, that doesn't work on car locks or ingnitions.
Interesting though.

I have done it. Old "well used" locks are easy to do.(like he is using) New locks are harder. It does work on old car door lock and ingnitions i have done it. But again, anything pre say 95 it's much much harder. Because they use two sets of tumbler pins(i think thats what they are called).

My brother used to work for, "Pop-A-Lock" There are plenty of tools to get into car locks without damaging it. However, they don't actually pick the lock of course, you feed a specific tool for the car down in between the window and the outside panel of the door and flip the lock from inside. Could get into my mom and dads cars in about 10 seconds.

For how simple it is, it is crazy the price they charged to get into cars/locks/houses. It was usually upwards of $80.00

he used a hex wrench. they don't work all that well. I have a lockpicking set that was handed down from my dad (i don't really know why he had it). Anyways, the tension wrench is a flat piece of spring steel that has a 90* twist and then a 90* bend. This way, there's a flat piece in the lock, and the handle is twisted to that it can give way a little bit as you hold the pressure. Much easier. If you look in the streets, sometimes you can find little metal strips that are the bristles off of street-sweeper trucks, especially around storm drains. Those are easily twisted to make tension wrenches or ground down to make the pick. good luck y'all! don't be stealin too much!

you can do the same with a bent paperclip and a very small screwdriver, but his custom made pick from a hacksaw works great and they are easy to make. Take a hacksaw blade and break it into thirds, then grind down the teeth and then form the end of the pick to your own preference.
