Lol at stupid people with the urbans legend thing. Heavyier than air and stays in the lungs...
If that was true then the carbondioxide would've killed you before you even opened you eyes!

But the thing that makes the voice different is that the pressure on the vocal cords is greater leading to the deeper voice. Helium is lighter which makes lower pressure on the vocal cords makes the voice lighter.

Still i know the perfect evil plan for this gas! Lets switch all the helium tanks in every carnival, shop, amusement park in the world! So then a small child is handed his/her ballon, it drop the floor!
MOHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHA!

*Btw floride is in you fucking tooth paste...

sulphur hexafluoride is a non-toxic, inert, insulating and cooling gas of high dielectric strength and thermal stability.

"Sulphur - Toxic
Fluoride - Toxic

I have no idea how chemical names come about but just those 2 words in the name would make me not breath it into my lungs until i read something on it on wiki :P"

hope ya know that oxygen is also toxic when it binds with itself in the right way (aka O3, or Ozone) so its all about the binding of the molecules that allows u to inhale it without dying

Does anybody know where I can find their pod cast? Or where this video originated from? The BulletinBoardForum.com isn't it.

It would be cooler if the gas never came out of his lungs so he'd be crying in a low voice to get that gas out. :)

he could stand on his head

this stuff is non-toxic... fair enuf the elements on their own are toxic but taken table salt for instance.. u wudnt wna eat any sodium or breath in any chlorine gas... but as a compound their safe to ingest

Both this and helium can cause asphyxiation if you're not careful. You can literally pass out while you're still standing, with few warning signs (you may feel light headed). This can cause brain damage, and in rare cases, death. So don't do it for extended periods of time.

gardenghoul, there were actually 2 kids that stuck their head in a helium balloon and stood there for too long and eventually died from it. So yeah, you shouldn't inhale larger amounts of this, once or twice as a joke is fine.
We mixed hydrochloric acid(HCl) and Sodium hydroxide(NaOH) in school, hydrochloric acid as you can guess from the name is dangerous but after the mix, all we got was salty water, H2O and NaCl. So two elements alone can be dangerous but as a mix sometimes neutralize each other.
