welll its definately more than a sentance...maybe sometimes its really bad, but she talks about the kids..then 2 the sentances later asks "do you know where they are" ..he says no idea...ok, so he dosnt know..but how does he know what she was talking about?!?!??!

That must be horrible, to have no recollection of anything beyond 7-30 seconds ago. It must be nice for his wife though, to be greeted as if you haven't been seen in years? Interesting that he still remembers how to play the piano, though. I wonder if he remembers any music at all, i.e.: anything he's played before, or if that too has been forgotten. Or could it just be that playing and listening to music was such an important thing in his life that it couldn't be forgotten, like his wife. If he learned another instrument, somehow, would he remember how to play that too? Hmm, such a bizarre illness, amnesia.

[Edit] Interesting, after reading everybody's comments. Would you really mug an old man because he can't remember? Or sleep with his wife? He can live with himself apparently, how can you? To have such thoughts? Did your parents raise you to think like that? Fucking stupid really, getting off from mugging some man because he'd forget a few seconds later. Gotta love the internet.

what if like, he was having sex with his wife, what would it be like to have your brain reset 30 seconds in, and if the lights were off, you wouldnt know what was going on even moreso than if the lights were on and it happened.

My god... The really, really sucks... I joke about my shitty memory (damned party drugs!!!) but this totally bummed me out. But it is sweet how he greets his wife, she'd never worry about him not loving her, or being an arsehole. I don't have the words for how much it sucks for all the shit these guys have to go through...
