The Tenth Dimension

Imagining the fourth dimension is hard but 6 more dimensions after that is mind boggling. It is all theory though mathematically proved.

"consider for a second that the past is intangible (i.e. no longer exists past the moment it was the present)"

You misunderstand. The past no longer exists in the three dimensional universe we percieve. But it still exists in the four dimensional universe that we don't quite percieve, we just lack the ability to revisit it.

It's like being strapped into a train that never ever stops. From your point of view, that tree you passed ten minutes ago doesn't exist anymore. Obviously this isn't true; the tree is still there in that ten-minutes-ago location, you just can't go back to it because you're stuck in your seat on the time train.

well dillinger i think that maybe if you think of it as each universe as a different dimension. one universe may be a completely different universe in the same dimension... so this could be a lead to all dimensions being related to each other just more complex than the next (a new universe).

it makes sense to me. anyone else?

so i guess that the first dimension maybe made up of more than one line and branched lines in a different universe?

hmmm...traveling back in time...the problem is we exist in the 3rd dimension. This means we can manipulate the dimensions below us. But, time in the fourth dimension is unreachable to us. This theory kind of supports a "god" type being that exists in a far higher dimension than us and is able to manipulatel each dimension below it...including us in the 3rd dimension...cosmic....
just some thoughts out loud

all these ideas originated from a theory called string theory. it was supposed to combine everything like electromagnetism, gravity and matter into one single theory.in other words, the answer to everything. Einstein was working on this theory but came up short till his death.

but some geniuses unified all these theories and they called it a string theory but the problem was it just created more questions and more possibilities.

they are even talking about multiverse.

but string theory is so small that it cannot be seen nor observed so the question is, is it a theory or a belief?

i wish i was a genius so i can understand it better.
but anyway, let me get back to my weed!

there are 4 or more versions of string theory, edward mittens supposedly a very gifted guy showed mathematically that these different versions are actually describing a same thing but in order for his explanation to work he says that there's 11 dimensions

"It's like being strapped into a train that never ever stops. From your point of view, that tree you passed ten minutes ago doesn't exist anymore. Obviously this isn't true; the tree is still there in that ten-minutes-ago location, you just can't go back to it because you're stuck in your seat on the time train."

That's probably the best example I've seen so far, Kudos mate.

But for the sake of friendly debate allow me to make this point. Your comparison of the train (time) and the stationery objects it passes on it's as of yet unreversable and unstoppable track isn't entirely compatible. NOTHING that exists remains stationery on the side of the tracks while the train of time passes it, the person in the train and the tree on the side of the road are one in the same, as well as everything in existence. That is, time traveling vessels, aging and dying with the flow of time. To hold true with the comparison the tree would always be visible outside the window of the train, moving forward in time at the same pace as the train itself....that is of course until the tree ceases to exist (dies/gets cut down) at which point it would disappear from view. As the train progresses down the tracks and new objects appear in view outside the window they continue to follow the train until one by one they get beaten down by time. This applies to all things we know (people, structures, etc.)

Now, is it possible that a snapshot of every nanosecond of existence exists for us to one day visit at will? It's possible, but I have a feeling if you could reverse the train to visit the tree you would find it no longer there, but in the present you left behind.

Food for thought: If it will ever be possible in the future to travel backwards in time, ever in the entire lifespan of the human race, wouldn't we be seeing some evidence of travelers from the future at this very moment?

There are eleven. count them, don't look at the number. my prediction is that if they find anymore it will be on the other side of the zero... explore space ignore the oceans. Humanity searches for Macrobreakthroughs. Damn damn damn.
