Live at the WIRED NextFest at the Jacob Javitz center in New York City, an infrared x-ray machine displays your vessels and muscle directly on top of your skin by just moving your body under the beam.

explanation: IR light is shone onto body, IR camera views body at 30 FPS. Computer processes IR camera return signals, then projects image in real time back onto body with visible light. This is a straightforward and cool trick, would be good in some health facilities where they have to take blood samples / give injections very frequently. Makes it easy to find blood vessels under the skin.

Makes me wonder what could be done with a combination of cameras and a scanning laser, which would have much better penetration. Then again, that's what ultrasound does so well. But the real time re-projection in-situ is still extra cool.

This is only an infrared detector with a projector. Nothing to do with x-rays! x-rays are very dangerous. Anoyone who can build that machine knows this.
