No you're all idiots. It's for people to park and wait if their food is not ready, and it will be brought out to them. This was used mainly for Mcdonald's pizza which is no longer served.

I think it's for when you make a huge order or when they run out of something you ordered and they have to cook it. So they make you park and then bring it out to you.

The sign is for the people that have to wait because their food is taking a little longer. They go from the drive-thru to the parking lot and wait in the spot where that sign is and then the people come out to your vechile and hand you your food.
