Kramer vs. Kramer

Michael Richards, better known as Kramer on Seinfeld totally lost it during a performance at Los Angeles’s Laugh Factory on Friday night. He has since apologized for his racial outburst on Letterman. This clip includes footage from his outburst as reported on Keith Olbermann's Countdown, followed by the Letterman segment.

Ya know its serious when Sienfeld has to shush the audience.
I personally think his apology was sincere. Just because you are an actor does not mean you are an expert at disseminating.
He screwed up big time and was trying to explain himself. Judging by the stilted, thinking on-the-fly way he talked, I think it was honest.
If blacks want respect from us 'peckerwoods' maybe they should start respecting themselves and stop using the N word.

From my experiance everybody originally thinks they are better then another race. Its only natural that something like this will come through when you loose your temper. I am all too familiar with the situation, I have gotten into a rage and have said things too which have destroyed my relationships in the past. We shouldnt look apon this as being "I will never respect this guy again". We should look at it from the perspective of a parent and just say "I still love you but im very dissapointed in you". Im very sure if he is as smart as what he leads on he will make amends in his own way. honestly if he keeps getting pestered about this sought of thing I wouldn't put it past him to suicide.
So lets agree to drop this topic for a long time please.

That is not racist? Also, when he said Afro-American, I personally thought he was joking and obviously not the only one since the crowd kept laughing everytime he said that. I think I can remake the conversation Seinfeld and Richards had before the show.

'Ok Mike, what you did was terrible, and also it is going to kill the sales of Seinfeld Season 7. I think you should publicy apologize before people stop watching Seinfeld all together.'

To people saying he's acting or whatever, come on. If he could act this torn up he'd have done alot more than seinfeld and comedy gigs.

He even says in his Letterman apology, that he's still trying to come to grips with this, he's trying to figure out why he said it and all that, and that if anything he's aleast somewhat happy that everyone, not just the black community, is upset about this.

But also, no one seems to care that this all started because some idiots saw a comedy show as thier chance to show how funny they are by heckling and talking during the show. It's a line of work, and I'm sure most of you wouldn't like it if people came to your place of work and started lipping off to you, distracting you, and heckling you. If it happend enough you'd probably blow up and target that last people that did it here.

And to those that say cracker isn't as bad and is justified. Shut it. If you want racism to be eliminated you can't have provisions for certain races, because that in itself is racism, and a double standard. You don't want people calling you a nigger, spick, chink, cracker, honky, mud race, whatever, don't use any of those terms even when referring to yourself or others, because all it does is start to dilute the hate in the words to the point where people will just start saying it.

Dwelling on it doesn't help. This happens daily, and is only getting attention because of who said it. To single him out as the one and only racist and such a bad man is ridiculous, you have to remember he's not the only person doing this.

Big ups to him though for trying to do a show like that under those circumstances. He was slow in his delivery because he didn't want to say anything that could turned on him and continue this thing.

What is the definition of a racist? It's such a broad term, I'm not sure I know what people mean by it. I always assumed a racist was someone who genuinely thought people of different race were inferior, hence black people couldn't be racist no matter how many "cracker" jokes they make, because they don't believe white people are inferior. So my question is, how many people out there REALLY believe black people are inferior to white people anymore, and is Richards someone who really believes that? And if he doesn't believe it, and I find it hard to believe he does, is he still a racist? I would have to say no, no matter how many times he calls someone with dark skin a name.

He is obviously upset. I think he is also losing his mind he doesnt seem to be totally coherent. That might be from his anger towards to himself. I just dont think he is totally in control of his thoughts or actions.
