Amazing, you don't see a F-18, F-15 or even an F-22 have such maneuverability. And this Sukhoi plane is more then 30 years old. Makes you think doesn't it.

As for the vid; Nice upload! I've never seen a fighter jet do that kind of stuff before (not that I'm an expert). Cool to watch.

Muufley: You got something mixed up here - this is a SU-37 it's first maiden flight was 1994... it's "still" a prototype. You're thinking of the SU-27 "Flanker" which entered service in 1984 - the predecessor of the SU-37 we just saw here.

Monkay man, you are an idiot. The flight charactaristics of the F-22 dont even come close to comparing to the Su-37, if it werent for the the raptors avionics and weaponry systems, theyd be screwed, do some research dingle-berry.

About a year back, the air force had a flight competition with India. The U.S. pilots all had f-22s and the indian pilots had oldschool russian migs(thats all india can really afford since we got jacked of all our gold and jewels by the fuckin British). Anyways, by the end of the contest, the indian pilots not only out piloted the americans in shitty aircrafts, but ended up winning the contest. Pretty crazy if u think about it.

^Same stuff happened when the US Navy had a 'naval competition' and Dutch Submarines 'sank' an aircraft-carrier and several destroyers because 'our' little submarines were too fast and too silent to be spotted untill the last moment.

Now while these competition 'wonders' are true and acknowledged by both sides you must remain clear of mind and not become blind of patriotism - in a full-blown all-out war it's unlikely your 'MIG's' would ever have the oppertunity to dog-fight any of the American jets... Just like the subs would be very unlikely to come anywhere close to US Navy-vessels unless given that chance under 'artificial'-circumstances like those of a Military-Excercise/Competition.

all the migs have had superior flight handling compared to their contemporary american fighters. the russians have better planes but the americans have better avionics and weapon systems. if you could combine the two you would have an amazing plane

The exercise involving the USAF and the Indian Airforce involved the Americans using F-15 aircraft...not F-22 aircraft as stated above...

the simulated combat exercise took place in Feb. of 2004 while the first Production F-22 only become active in the latter part of 2004...

You're confusing the Su-27 with the Su-37. Notice the position of the control stick, ala F-16? It's fly-by-wire, which the Su-27 was not.

The F-22 *can* perform the "cobra" since it also has thrust vectoring. In combat though, all the maneuvers you see the 37 doing are useless, unless the pilot is trying to generate an overshoot but you can't do that at high speed so he would be dead at that point anyways.

The F-22 can fire 6 AMRAAMs BVR *at once, at multiple targets*. Both the 37 and 22 have "look and shoot" but that is only useful in a merge, the F22 would have killed them long before that. In tests two F-22s have gone up against as many as 18 F-15s and F-18s and came out of the engagement barely detected.

F-22's avionics pwn the 37s, and that is where it counts today. Dogfights are a thing of the past and even if they should find themselves in one, the cobra maneuver is not something you want to do. "Speed is life", and that bleeds the hell out of your energy.
