Also someone should point out to that guy that sites like youtube (and Spiked;) are filled with Daily Show and Colbert clips.

if Stewart/Colbert ran in 2008, they shouldn't run as independants. A vote for stewart would be a vote for the republicans.

Thats the wrong attitude. America's two party system sucks (Canada's is a bit better, but is still moving centerist).
Think about it, what is so democratic about switching between two parties every 4 years or so. Yo need some new blood and ideas in there. The Dems and Reps look more and more alike every year (case in point: which party is Hillary Clinton supposed to be on).

Of course the Daily Show and Colbert had an impact. We all witnessed the massive amount of views and the debates going on in our very own site just before the election. They should have mentioned SpikedHumor in this clip, screw googletube.

Despite my usual lack of understanding for republicans, I should admit I dont really dislike them THAT much.

I mean they basically stand for everything I hate, rigid conservative systems. The word itself MEANS preserve. Basically it's opposing everything I love about liberalism. Change, freedom and tolerance (wich I've been practicing too little of).
Obviously liberlism isn't a dirty word like every asshole in the media wants to paint it out to be *cough O'reilly, Hannity and Limbaugh cough*, in fact your nation was pretty much FOUNDED on it. BUT....

It's really the Neo-cons *cough Wolfowitz, Perle cough* twisted worldview I CANT stand. Them and the repressive moralist christian fundamentalists that see nothing wrong with forcing their opression on the rest.

Normal everday republicans I can live with, between us and them we will make a better world.

So if Stewart indeed is a republican, wich I doubt, he still has shown that he's a human being with decency, that it wouldn't matter to me. The sad part is though, once they got a taste of the power.... who knows when they too corrupt....

They forgot to mention Spiked Humour. Shame on them. That's where I get my daily dose of political chit chat and gossip.
