I had the original Zelda NES. I thought it was really cool how the cartridge was shiny and gold. I totally sucked at the game though, I think I was too young or something, with not enough gaming experience. I just ended up using a Game Genie with god mode, lol, the memories.

@Wizzad - the top 3 video game franchises are as follows:

I remember the first time i played the origional zelda i entered my name as "zelda" for my character. Anyone who has ever played this game knows that thats a bad fuckin idea =p

Hard to believe it's been 20 years. I remember the first time I played it I had no idea what I was doing and ended up getting massacred by some octrocs. Good times.

I didn't like the Zelda cartoon on King Troopa show. I loved the Mario cartoon though. Damn that was a loooong time ago.

i have ever zelda ever made (excluding the 2 flops for cdi...only cuz i dont have the money to waste, and the ones not out yet) hell, i even have the Zelda cartoon box set. personally, i think the greatest game series' of all time are
1. zelda
2. castlevania
3. final fantasy
...mario was awsome too, but it seems the best mario of all is always overlooked (mario 2) :D
