I did that with a forklift once ... Had a small package on it and I sort of forgot that thirty inches of fork was sticking out in front. Not good for the wall I wanted to place the package in front of, but the forklift didn't mind much.

Why Stupid Mechanic :-? , i mean it's an accident, and accidents happens even with the most trained mechanic. I am sure he learned to pay more attention next time to the trany type. Case closed :D

@ mGoLos. Forlift accidents always..always happen. My friend crashed his acouple of times into the roof because he didnt lower the forks. Another guy I worked with said he drove the forks into a 200,000 dollar pallet of medical supplies. He said the boss wasnt too happy about it.

Its impossible to do that with a manual. Only insanely hard to with an automatic. The only way I could imagine is if it was left on and in drive and he pulled the E-brake. but thats just retarded.

shananay. get a clue before u post, this is so easy to do with a manual.
but impossible with an auto unless the inhibitor is also faulty.
if anyone in our shop leaves a manual in gear, they get punished. just for this reason. if someone tries to start

I keep watching this over what really just happened? I mean even if it was a stick and it put the car in drive the car would move slow that car flew at the wall like it was possessed. Could it have been an automatic and messing with the ecu triggered the tranny to accelerate?

grab any car (not an auto), if its in gear, try turning the ignition key without the handbrake on and see what happens.

This looks to be an automatic...if it where a manual, it would have jumped a little more and then stalled and slowly came to a stop.
