A retired man builds his Stonehenge using the "techniques" he believes the original makers of the Stonehenge used. He moves a 22,000 pound concrete block without any machines.

This method is pretty well-known in the construction trade, not too new, but very impressive.

"Not too new"
Naah, just somewhere between 4 and 100 thousand years old.

To the guy who wondered how he'd get blocks with a shorter width up high enough using his teeter method...simple. He wouldn't. He'd use blocks with a larger width, teeter them up, position them on top of the other verticle stones and then carve the ends off to get the effect he wanted.

I mean, if that was the only way he knew of to get the stone up there, why couldn' t he just trim the ends off after?

This guy is a fucking genius; these techniques would be nothing short of a miracle for the debt ridden, underdeveloped parts of the world.

@ConceptualTrap
I like that idea man, never thought about that. That could explain why some of the actual Stonehenge tops overlap 3 or 4 pillars..

interesting.. simple methods often the most impressive then? that guy might be jesus

@ConceptualTrap
Instead of using a longer stone lintel he could build the ground up around
the circle and then use the same fulcrum method.

Good work man!
But I'm not sure I fancy the idea of lugging a shitload of 45 ton stones 20 miles across the British countryside on a couple of tiny stones.
But shit, these are people who used tools made from animal bones, it's not as if they've got anything better to do!
