Man Rebuilds Stonehenge

A retired man builds his Stonehenge using the "techniques" he believes the original makers of the Stonehenge used. He moves a 22,000 pound concrete block without any machines.

@laxatives
yep that's an interesting point. I suppose the pillars would just need to be thicker in line with the extra weight that would be needed to 'teeter' them again

My only problem to his experiment, which was genious by the way, is that they didn't have a paved cement walkway to rotate the stones on back then. The small rocks would have simply sunk into the ground when attempting to move those large 1 or 2 ton blocks. Other than that, I think it's completely feasible that they could have implemented his system to build stonehenge.

the technique he used to stand the stone upright can be used in many positions.

first you raise a stone parallell to the ground and keep it suspended higher than where the pillars that will hold it.

then you raise another stone but-end to the already raised one and drop it vertical.perpendicular to the already raised one.

do that on both ends then lower the raised, horizontal stone on top.

walla. stone hinge.

Im more curious to know how they removed the sand and why it was even there in the first place. And how did the have flowing water??

oh also, it doesnt matter how long the block is.

you can build posts to stop it from teetering all the way to the ground using the fulcrum technique. it doesnt matter how long the stone is.

your limiting factor is the heght of the surrounding trees you can take down to use as posts.

thats amazing. But the block he lifted is 9.6 tons vs the "25 ton" blocks from stonehenge. It would be interesting to see him finishing it if he does go bigger.

JroDigga - QaHdrake said it. He'd put the little stone so he could spin it. I'd imagine he may have to modify his jack a bit before spinning it though.

doodled - you miss the solution. The answer is, using his method, you can't be as ambitious and move up as quickly as he could w/ the longer stones. U go w/ smaller lumber.

pontif - you are just plain silly! For any structure you prepair the earth below. The pit was predug, and the flowing water came from a well that was hooked up to a pneumatic tube transfering the water from the well to his sand pit. Sand is a great material to help level things out.

PS - he only has to spin the stone a quarter turn. He walks it up inbetween the 2 stones already standing. He then uses the wedge stone and spins it a quarter turn.

yes. the druids who made stonehenge werent only from atlantis, but from a number of fallen continents such as lemuria. history has repeated itself a number of times. noah actually existed and escaped not in a boat, but what we term a ufo. also, the last time history "ended" and the previous continents were disbanded, it was because of very high technology. we're talking thermo nuclear war, which happened over 14,000 years ago on this very planet. but then something happened. something the scientists and rules back then didnt forsee. mother nature fought back and there was a pole shift. we're talking massive upheaval. you were seeing huge rocks flying int he sky, landing in random places, etc. more to thiss story, look up michael tsarion on google vid or youtube

The silly part of that theory is, this story shows that stone henge could have been built by a couple of bored housewives. It kinda helps to debunk the need for a massive civilization to create such a monument.
