Turret , front and back of the tank are not protected by reactive armor . No active protection system whatsoever .

This is a poster for the TUSK (Tank Urban Survival Kit) system currently being tested on the Abrams in Iraq. And as far as the armor goes, the frontal hull, frontal turret and side turret armor have never been breached by any weapon system, including IED's. And the bar armor grill on the rear of the hull has been proven quite effective against RPG's. I would be more worried about the belly armor than I would about the front or sides of the tank.

the front and back of the abrams M1A2 main battle tank do not need any reactive protection because the abrams was built so that anti tank projectiles would simply bounce of its skin. this design was chosen by the military becausee it can reach a high speed of 68mph and wieghs 68 tons also the abrams is very stable when aiming even while in motion. there is no other vehicle that matches the capabilities of the abrams mbt.
