i could train these all day. i love cats, i raise bengal cats (house cat bred with bengal tiger) and these ligors are just as fun, just as cute, just as "ooey-gooey" and hilarious as any of your favorite household cats. cute "little" buggers :P

If you breed a male tiger with female lion you will get a tigon, which would actually be smaller than both the lioness and tiger because both carry a growth inhibiting gene as opposed to a liger which does not carry the growth inhibiting gene hence its enourmous size. Hybrids like this are usually sterile.

Ninj4, I'd like to see one of these babies go against a rhodesian ridgeback. The rhodesian ridgeback HUNTS lions in the wild. No shit, either.

Sick animal cruelty aside, this is terribly fascinating. I wonder how well it gets along with lions? Obviously it gets along with tigers fine. Do tigers and lions normally get along okay?

Id like to see that too. This cat would rip it to bits. Wikipedia says the Rhodesian Ridgeback is known for its ability to HARASS a lion, not hunt them. This cat is twice the size of a lion. A fucking dog hasnt got shit on it. Not to mention to harass a regular lion it needs to be in a pack of 2 to 5 dogs -
"As hunters, Ridgebacks in packs of 2 to 5 kept a lion at bay while the hunters came to kill it"

The reason it is called a liger is because they use a male lion and a female tiger.

The male is usually the dominant gene in any ofspring therefore to get the ultimate beast they use the lion.

Imagine breeding a cheetah and a black panther, than u would have a speedy and stealthy hunter. Though i do wonder if they've actually tried breeding a male tiger and female lion, it just seems to me that if it works one way why not the other. Still gotta admit that is one big WILD CAT.
