That's cool, but I can't help feeling it's messing with nature too much, I doubt a Lion and a Tiger would mate in the wild. Still, that's one big Liger, and I think it's only fair that someone tells that dude it's probably not a good idea to put your hand so close to a wild cat's mouth.

I believe the phrase "only lives in captivity" was used no less than 5 times.

But back on topic... I think i read somewhere that if you breed a male tiger and a female lion... the name actually changes to a tigon. I guess the male name becomes the dominant first part.

this was on a while ago too on discovery channel along with that guy who had sex with a monkey and litterly made a half man half monkey. but part of the reason a liger is so big is that since its new it pretty much can grow as large as its food source, and its bread in captivity and can eat whenever its fed it grows friggin big. it was on Manimal on discovery channel.

it is a liger because it was a male lion and a female tiger, if it was a male tiger and a female lion it would have the name of a tigon. And it is not really messing with nature, these types of things do happen in nature however the offspring is sterile so they can not breed. It is the same thing as a mule, the mix of a horse and a donkey
