Humm... So this is what computers were like when I was born... I'm actually amazed they were this advanced.... I always pictured the POS dos machines i played Commander Keen on.... Then again that was a hell of a lot more advanced than this I suppose....

Question... was Mac really running a "windows" GUI like this back in 1983? the dos UI I remember was nothin like this.. and windows 3.1 came out quite a bit later i'm pretty sure.... this picture looks very similar to 3.1

Actually it was identical to 3.1 with the exception of where the "x" is. lol The other difference is that 3.1 wasn't a 'master' OS of sorts, think of it as a program that you had to run to run all the other programs. I remember a few years ago, in 2001 My buddy was screwing around with a 386 (cause thats you can do) and he was amazed when I shown him that 3.1 had a screen saver.

NO windows 3.1 is very much like this. Xerox invented the mouse and software - Xerox let APple have it - Bill Gates stole it from APple. HEHEHE quite humurous.

Kinda looks like the giant computer from Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy. And that thing probably would take 100 million years to process a request.

Actually, both Apple and Microsoft received presentations from Xerox. Microsoft was also able to see a prototype of the Lisa.

Xerox sued Apple, but the case was thrown out on a technicality.
