...complain....yap and lies......you say it is going to flop, fine, they said the same thing about 360 and the ps2 even...you know what wait and see....you complain about fingertips and scratches and yet everyone is making these style of designs from Ipods to other equipment, unless you weild it like a sword i doubt a lot of scratches would be made....anyways great vid

The PS3 and 360 are NOT equal in processing power. Initially, the 360 and PS3 will be equal in graphics, but once the developers learn how to use the PS3's cell core better (it is apparently REALLY complicated) the PS3 will shine.

But with high development costs, not alot of developers will be learning how to use the core better. I'd guess that we'd have to wait a good 3-4 years before seeing much of a difference between the graphics of the 360 and PS3.

Fuck consoles ! I want my mouse controlled games for PC , as well as ability to make mods and alterations to the games .

Does anyone really care how his console look ? Must be that faggy tendency for smooth cases for PC's and , apparently , consoles . What are you gonna do , make photos , hugging that thing ?

My PC case is some chinese bulk crap , without a side wall and i don't give a fuck , how does it look . That is because I don't bring my PC around to some gay slumber parties and keep it under my computer desk :) .

many people see the Ps3 processor and view it as a normal processor. but no, it is much more powerful and advanced processor.

The "Processing Element" of the Cell is a 3.2-GHz PowerPC core equipped with 512 KB of L2 cache. The PowerPC core is a type of microprocessor similar to the one you would find running the Apple G5. It's a powerful processor on its own and could easily run a computer by itself; but in the Cell, the PowerPC core is not the sole processor. Instead, it's more of a "managing processor." It delegates processing to the eight other processors on the chip, the Synergistic Processing Elements.

The computational workload comes in through the PowerPC core. The core then assesses the work that needs to be done, looks at what the SPEs are currently processing and decides how to best dole out the workload to achieve maximum efficiency.

The SPEs used in the Cell processor are each SIMD (Single Instruction, Multiple Data), 128-bit vector processors. Vector processors are designed to quickly process several pieces of data at once. They were commonly used in the 1980s in large, powerful, scientific supercomputers and were created as a faster alternative to the more common scalar processor. Scalar processors can only work one data element at a time. Despite this limitation, advances in scalar design and performance have made the use of vector processors very rare these days in most computers. However, because of the vector processor's ability to handle several data elements at once, IBM resurrected this design for the Cell. There are eight SPEs on the chip, but only seven of them handle processing. The eighth SPE is built in as redundancy in case one of the other seven fails.

The SPEs each come loaded with 256 KB SRAM. This high-speed memory helps each SPE crunch numbers quickly. The SPE memory is also visible to the main Processing Element. This allows the PowerPC Core to utilize the resources of each SPE in the most efficient way possible. All of this amounts to unprecedented power for a piece of consumer electronics.

if any of you read all that it is appart that th ps3 is a very very god deal. i mean look at how much a blu ray player costs so you get a very powerful computer with a blu ray for 600$. also they lose alot of money on each consol sold.

PlayStation 3 crams 234 million transistors onto a single die. For comparison, one of the most powerful desktop PC CPUs available in 2005, the $1,000, dual-core Pentium Processor Extreme Edition, just barely breaks the 200-million-transistor mark.

I know everyone is complaining about its price but the only reason its like that is cause of the Blu-Ray player, I mean buying JUST a Blu-Ray player would cost you nearly a grand, around the same price as DVD players when they first came out. But Im glad they added the Blu-Ray player (though I doubt I'll be watching any of there movies), with a CD that can hold 50GB+, that'll be great for the games, you'll be able to do more things than if it was on a HD-DVD.

^And LithuanianLabourer, unless your PC can go at 213ghz without being as huge as a super computer then trust me, the PS3 as well as other consoles will always be better with games than PC's (and MUCH cheaper). Mainly cause you don't have to keep buying parts every year just to keep up.

Ohhh and just like the PS2, you'll be able to play FPS and other games with a mouse and keyboard.

The controllers do have a "shock" function, but it isn't going to be like holding a vibrating cell phone. The new shock funtion is rumored to be a flat piezo speaker capable of vibrating and playing any sound the game wants to send to you.
