5/5 Good video... I am an agnostic and I am deemed dead by my parents since I am not a christian anymore. I find that my non religious friends are generally happier than my Xsitans ones. My Xstians friend re always telling me to read my bible. I have read it through four times. Twice while I was a Xstian and twice when I gave it up. I got a lot more out of it when I was reading it as a book instead of as a instruction booklet.

I have nothing against Xsitans but they better shape up if they want anyone to take them seriously. I will probably get voted down for this but religion is going to fuck america in the ass. The quicker they rely on the intelligence God gave them and not on prayer they will become a great nation once again.

nicely done, they all owe their existance to God, btw Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking (among MANY others) admitted they beleived in a creative force with inteligence and called it God.

Kiethpup --
I believe in Spinoza's God who reveals himself in the orderly harmony of what exists, not in a God who concerns himself with the fates and actions of human beings. (Albert Einstein) Following his wife's advice in responding to Rabbi Herbert Goldstein of the International Synagogue in New York, who had sent Einstein a cablegram bluntly demanding "Do you believe in God?" Quoted from and citation notes derived from Victor J. Stenger, Has Science Found God? (draft: 2001), chapter 3.

------------------------------
Who or what is Spinoza's God?
------------------------------

Baruch Spinoza's God is not the God of Abraham and Isaac, not a personal God at all, and his system provides no reason for the revelatory status of the Bible or the practice of Judaism, or of any religion, for that matter. ...
Since Spinoza explicitly identifies his God with Nature, it doesn't even seem to be a God at all.

------------------------------------------------------------------

As for Hawking, he has grown up surrounded by Athiests and Communists, it's no wonder he may have the feelings he does, but take these quotes from Hawking, and turn them into his belief in a God, is somewhat far fetched.

“All the evidence shows that God was actually quite a gambler, and the universe is a great casino, where dice are thrown, and roulette wheels spin on every occasion”

“Not only does God play dice, but... he sometimes throws them where they cannot be seen.”

"Can God make a stone so heavy that he can't lift it?" (brings to mind the Homer Simpson quote about God making a burrito so hot that even he couldn't eat it.)

Now granted his wife is a Christian but I doubt she converted him. He has very strong views on the possibility of a God and has made mention in this in his books, but again, nothing concrete as a "Yes I believe in a higher power that controls the universe."

^IrishTom, at that time, the effects of radiation and exposure to such dangerous chemicals and minerals were unknown, she had absolutely no way in knowing what she was doing to herself, untill it was too late.

I totally agree with you ricemonkey, everytime I ask a religious nut to prove the existance of god, they keep answering me with "the bible". Any random peasant can write a very long book about his theory to life and the creation of human beings, animals, etc. There is no way, in my opinion, to prove the existance of "god". I see the bible as a rulebook to life, for example, it is prohibited to have sex for pleasure. How the hell can you prohibit people to do that if it's in the human being's nature to have sex not only to reproduce, but also to have pleasure?!?! well, GOD made us this way, don't argue with me, argue with god, if you're that crazy. FACT is, it's almost impossible to be what the bible wants you to be, nobody's prefect, and most of the ten commandments are just plain stupid.

religion is a psychological disease, I feel sorry for the people who have it

I am not a religious person and I have never read the bible, but I do believe we were created by something whatever you want to call it because it just seems logical to me. I will admit though even trying to argue that will lead to a neverending argument because the creator must have had a creator in return and so on.

By the way, that song is pretty tight.

Albert Einstein: "I do not think that it is necessarily the case that science and religion are natural opposites. In fact, I think that there is a very close connection between the two. Further, I think that science without religion is lame and, conversely, that religion without science is blind. Both are important and should work hand-in-hand".

His views on this matter are spot on, imo.

Cool video.

When it comes to the question everybody seems to ask themselves, "Is there a God?" there are many possible answers. Most of these answers have labels.

Atheist - No God
Agnostic - Is a God, but impossible for us to know him personally
Subscribe to a Religion - eg. Christianity, Judaism, Islam...

There is not however, to my knowledge a label for the group I have chosen. I have chosen to not even ask the question. I think the question itself is irrelevant. There are a million more interesting things to worry about and debate over. Why get so caught up in the existence or non existence of something you will never know the answer to until... it is too late.

AhumbleKnight has a good point......rather it is better to spend our time trying to understand how a tree grows...than to forever rake away the leaves at its base as a tribute to god, as the raking of leaves gives us no advancement but occupies the mind from questioning our existance and our evolution as thinking creatures.

Proof beats Faith to a bloody pulp every time. Intelligent design will get it's kicking just like the Geo-centric universe theory.
