According to the mainstream news media we were all born yesterday. Its been the end of the world for thousands of years, and when a major even unfolds suddenly its time to re-evalute the idea of the end of times.

I don't know what it is about the media but they have become so utterly pointless and useless.

Any American that wants to learn about what is happening in America, ie. news, watches the BBC. American news is hardly news. It's fear mongering, propagandist, bull shit.

Fuck CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX in the neck.

Americans, if you want to find out what is really transpiring in the world and in the US, turn your TV off, and use the BBC or some other world publication for your current events. THE BBC has just as much news about the United States as CNN does. The internet is swiftly becoming the last source of pure information we have. Is it any wonder why the United States congress is passing legislation right now that will limit your access to sites that it does not approve of? Do your part to defend your fucking freedoms. Educate yourselves. The mainstream news is as corrupt as the government it draws attention away from with this kind of ridiculous "Reporting" with religious overtones. For god's sake people,

Nostradamus. Now someone even try to interpret what the hell he was saying and how many times he was wrong, and the leeway he left for events happening.

The french he wrote in is confusing due to the fact that no 'official' french written language existied at that time, many events he described never happend and when they did, they never happened on the exact date he predicted them to happen. Believing in Nostradamus is like believing in newspaper horoscopes - you read into it what you think apllies to yourself.

News in America is nothing more than a marketable commodity. If it can be sold, they'll print/broadcast it.

American news merely panders to the ignorance/beliefs of the American public.

As America is one of the most religous countries in the world it is hardly surprising that it's "News" contains rediculous items such as the ones lampooned in this segment of the Daily Show.

It was in the newspaper here (Belgium) a while back that American news is usually produced by the governement, which then sells their newsflashes at low cost to the news stations. The stations are happy about this because it saves them a lot of money, and the governement is happy because they reach a lot of people in a relatively cheap way.
even though I have never been to the U.S. myself, from what I hear and see I would have to agree with darthmaximillian.
