The best non-heavyweight fighter of our generation. 5 time UFC champion, pancrase champ, all around beast. (Please, nobody try to claim Ken is better. That's just foolish.) In case anyone was wondering, yes, that is Tito Ortiz getting his ass handed to him, and yes, Tito outweighed him by 30 lbs in that fight.

o.k. guy. they fought 3 times. 1-1-1. and that was in pancrase where the rules blatantly favor stand up fighting. that is franks worst aspect and he was still the 4th king of pancrase. bas rutten, while also one of the greatest, was heavyweight champ at 205. frank beat tito, a former 2 yr reigning champ, when frank was 185 and tito was 220. not only that, but he beat tito at his own game, the ground.

He's lost to Rutten twice and won once, and Ruttens stats are better. So in my book, Rutten is a better fighter.

And it doesnt matter if stand up is his worst aspect, it's still fighting and still has to be taken into consideration. Rutten is good in both, btw Oh and Frank is a submission fighter so theres nothing special that he beat Tito on the ground.....

you got me on the fight record, but i think tko on doctor stoppage shouldn't count against anyone's record. example: vitor belfort vs randy coture. i love vitor but that was horse shit. also, he beat rutten in his FIRST PROFESSIONAL FIGHT! does that not count for anything? don't get me wrong, i'm a huge bas rutten fan. plus, frank himself will tell you he didn't fully dedicate himself until after all 3 of their fights here's my list:

1: frank (most complete ever)
2: fedor emilienenko (savage beast for which there is no answer)
3: bas rutten (one of the first "all around" fighters. the "new breed" if you will)

that's a good list BUT: (you know i had to have a rebutal!) arlovski????? come on. potential (and yes, he does have a ton of it, is not a messure of a fighter's greatness until he realizes that potential) is awesome, but, he lost to Tim "douchebag" Silvia 2 times. why didn't he keep kicking his leg? just kick the damn leg andre. what is your opinion of brandon vera. he said he can win light and heavy weight titles. i don't doubt him. my boy (6'5" 270 of muscle) who is very skilled told me about training with him and said he's a straight up beast. i'm for sure on his bandwagon.

bottom line: i'll say it, liddell is overrated. i can name 3 fighters in his class that would beat the fuck out of him. great fighter but the UFC media machine has made him to be more than he really is. if Silva fights him it's gonna be ugly.

Brandon Vera. Well he's doing great so far, (although i've only seen him fight twice I know he's undefeated in like what? 6 matches?) he's a great fighter. Could pack some muscle on him but so far he hasn't shown he needs anymore than he has. But his matches (from what I now see on sherdog) show that he has not gone past 5 minutes, which leads me to consider in a long match (like a submission oriented one with lets say Bas Rutten or Frank), he would tire quickly and loose. Also seeing how he has only 1 submission and 5 ko's it leads me to belive he isn't much of a submission/ground fighter anyway.

Anyways, the sun is coming up right about now so i should get to bed...

mmmmmm. good point, but he's doing jui-jitsu under the best. tradtionaly "the best" GIVE black belts away under their tutalage. bradon vera is under and abu dabi chambion (sp), the same as tito ortiz. as much as many people hate tito, he came in second in abu dabi, i asure you, brandon will not be denied in UFC! VERSITILE is the word of the day.

granted, he's not the best ever, but let's get serious (rickson is un proven (( admit it)) vera could pack on more lbs but imagine him @ 205 vera dominate. i' gappled with liddell is going to get takebn down, his major defense (it will) (( like said, his training boys @ 265 and I'VBE then i'm not THAT good and I've beat them. frank is sooooo much strongere than him. much stronger, fighter,......trust me>>>>>>better fighter.
