This is one smart kid to go up there and try to stop the bus...I can't believe all the other kids just sat there. I would have run up to stop the damn thing

I wouldnt say they were sheep, they either didnt know what was up or stayed seated which they are probley told to do anyway. The kid went on insticnt and did the right thing.

Especially when your ten years old and most 10 year olds dont notice the difference between the brake and the gas.

Imagine if that kid had an afterschool detention or stayed for extra help.

Those kids including the driver, would've been dead.

Sounds like something my old bus driver would try to do, fake a heart attack then try to kill us all. Anyway, that video shows how important it is to have seatbelts on school buses.

I wouldnt even say brave, exactly how "Brave" does one have to be to stop a bus that YOUR ON that is heading for a creek. I believe it is better called self-preservation and even cockroaches have that.

Why would you panic. You notice the driver is having a problem, so you run up to check, and you pull his damn foot off the pedal. But in some cases, that's a bad idea. I mean, yea, take his foot off the pedal but you should at least be careful when pushing the stop. If a huge transport is behind you and they don't know what is going on, a lot of injuries could occur. There's a difference between brave and stupidity. This child ranks in both. While I am proud that he stopped the bus, a vehicle could have rammed the rear end of the bus which could have caused serious injuries even if he helped out the bus. The fact that he stopped the bus before it would have landed in a creek or something is pure luck.
