USA, the one and only nation to ever use an atomic bomb in warfare...
There could have been other ways to resolve the issue between japan and the US, but no. this descision seemed like a descision made on a whim. The presedent probably autorized it because he wanted to demonstrate the US's power. and japan got the ass's end of the deal.

Now japan strikes US back by intoxicating us with anime?!

Meh i say the Atomic Bomb was not needed, sure they are a proud and honorable nation, but there was no need to resort to using that. Take it as this for an example, what if it was turned the other way as in Japan used the bomb on U.S.A??? alot of your comments would be turned around saying "oh how sad" and stuff. Also i say Japan is a much better nation than the U.S.A, that is before the invasions of that area started to begin, their culture, art and expression is so amazing. Better than a hillbilly driving on a dirt road going to his K.K.K meeting.

I think the bomb was necessary. They would kamikaze ships without blinking. If we even attempted to invade, it would have made D-Day look like a minor skirmish.

Can I say that with 100% certainty though? Nope. Just like none of you can be certain what would have happened if we hadn't dropped the bomb. So give it up. The war still ended after we dropped those two bombs with an unconditional surrender in no time flat, was that because of the bombs? It most certainly was.

Without the bombs who knows how long it would have taken to get a surrender out of Japan.

You can't say that the atomic bomb was a bad thing, Japan surrendered and the United States rebuilt the country into the economic super giant that it is. The Japan of today would not have exsisted without these two sad, but necessary, events.

Not only did it help end WW2 in the Pacific, but it also stopped war with the Russians in Germany following WW2. Sure the cold war began, but imagine how many people would have died if the Soviet Union and The United States/England had gone to war.

It's easy to get angry over so many people dying, and rightfully so, but the big picture has to be considered.
