Not sure about the wheel getting jammed,i believe this is the driver's fault.

It was a landing gear malfunction, not pilot error, and they did a great job landing the thing.

I watched this live on Television when I was at work several months ago. It was definately a technical malfunction and the pilot did an awesome job of landing that plane safely.

You might be happy to learn that both pilots and planes are trained/designed for exactly this kind of malfunction. That being said it was a textbook landing under those conditions.

yeah that plane had hot brakes which is made with magenesium which could have exploded way back when he landed. great pilot no arriovals for a while at that airport

^^They try not to use magnesium in planes anymore. It was used during the war due to a shortage of aluminum but it is not safe as it burns easily.

Point 2: It did not contain pure magnesium, it contained ammonium magnesium chromate, phosphates and silicates, and aluminum powder
Point 3: ammonium magnesium chromate, ignites between 850 and 1200 °C
