Piranha is OK to eat. They taste kinda like Perch.

I like to fish, but I don't like to eat'em, so I usually just reel them in, give'em a kiss and set them free. Piranhas are one of about 3 fish I've caght but will not kiss. Oh, well.

The danger of Piranha's is way over exagerated. I went swimming in the same river that I was pulling red-bellied Piranhas out of minutes before.

you can order piranha if you live in certain states. mainly northern ones where they cant survive the winters if you release them into lakes/rivers.

Piranhas aren't carnivorous, despite the popular belief...They mostly eat berries and other fruits that fall from the trees over rivers and stream where they populate .

i have two ten inch red bellies like those pictured except larger and lazier. they are skittish fish.. google can help you find out if they are legal in your state. mine are 5 years old so they can live for a while. if they are legal in your state many pet stores will order them for you for a price.. i got mine as babies for $6 each. they need a big tank and ARE carnivorous. when young they'll readily allow you to watch them eat goldfish and so on. ive seen babies for sale for up to 20 a piece. youll need a big tank if your serious about keeping them as a pet and not a prisoner. Babies arent as pretty as these pictured either. these look post pubescent
