phobias are generally never considered mental disorders. Sadly enough, this case is genuinely not something that can be logically explained, so there's probably some sort of hard-wired reason she has such a rediculous fear.

Honestly, though, there is a psychological technique (I believe it's called "flooding") where you literally bombard the person with their fear until they realize that there is nothing to be afraid of. Such as taking a person with a fear of heights to the tallest building in the city and making them hang over the edge.

Poor girl...

Honestly I feel sorry for her. Not so much because she has a phobia, but because it's of pickles.

I mean, if you tell somone you have ophidiophobia (fear of snakes) they can understand that. However if you tell somone you have a pickle phobia . . . how can you take that seriously?

Well... If somebody shoved a crayon in your ass, and told you that they are going to shove crayons down your throat until you die from choking on them... and did this for a good portion of your life, I think you might flip out if you saw a crayon.

I'm pretty sure everybody here has something or other that soceity thinks that you must be a moron for being afraid of, doing, habit, etc.
