Ghana Boots U.S. From World Cup

There was no glory for the United States at this year's World Cup, only frustration and failure.

The Americans were eliminated in the first round, losing to Ghana 2-1 Thursday in a game they had to win to advance to the tournament's knockout phase.

With thousands of red, white and blue-clad fans cheering them on in Franken-Stadion, the Americans fell flat against a Black Stars team that was stronger and faster. Surprising Ghana advanced along with Italy from Group E.

It was a bitter ending for the United States, which carried high hopes — and a No. 5 world ranking from FIFA — onto soccer's biggest stage. Four years ago, the Americans made the quarterfinals of the World Cup.

Arena needs to get ass canned after this. He kept touting the fact that this was his first chance to be selective when choosing his world cup squad then when it came time for the competition he never really deviated from his starting 11, despite the fact players like Donovan, Beasley, and Keller were off form.

When players fail it's the coaches job to get them off the pitch; he needs to be fired for not doing his job.

American are only really good at the sports they invented such as baseball, American football.

International sports such as Football (soccer if you like) they are not really good at. It is a shame really to be honest.

But I have to say in recent years they have played quite well, and as they gain more experience they get better. I thyink it is just down to experience and the Ameircan nation should tkae football more seriously. Maybe they might win it one day.

These colors lets see weve got our ass handed to us in the Nations cup (Baseball) The Olympics (Basketball) and american football players would never play Rugby (No Pads)
American sports are in a sad state all we have now is whiney assed multimillionairs complaning that everything is everyone elses fault and its bullshit

Ghana have some really really strong players but suffer in the team-work dept. I had hoped USA could find some of the shear grit they showed against italy, but thier defence just could handle the power and pace of the offence comming their way. get practicing, we'll see you in 4.
