Tsar Bomba

This is the actual Tsar Bomba footage of the Russian test in 1961. To date it is the largest nuke ever tested, 50 megatons. Although the US claims it had spy devices that measured it at 57.The scariest thing is the actual design was capable of 100, it had to be scaled down for the test to be 'safe'.

k first of all, they stole all those comments from the documentary off discovery "ultimate explosions" and second of al... THAT ONE FUCKING BIG EXPLOSION, think of what the shock wave was like, i heard it was powerful to measured on its third pass around the world. so, whos up for some war against the russians!:D! who was the person that said the thing about the anti-matter? cuz to blow up the world you nly need about 10 pounds of it. one cubic centimetre can boil the atlantic ocean. so think if we miked it with liek francium or sumthin then droped it it side a weight then sunk it to the bottom of the ocean the let all the watter in...... im amazed by the sheer power of these things. im sure this isnt as powerful as some of the nukes the u.s. has. he said only 4 times as powerful as the atomic bomb we dropped on hiroshima and nagasaki. it is said a nuclear bomb is up to 1000 times more powerful than that, and that killed thousands and destroyed the survivors' gene structure

50 megatons is big. Their ss18 icbm missile usualy carries a 40 megaton version. The largest one we use is 20 megatons. The largest ever detonated was by the Russians at 66megatons. It was designed for 99 megatons but they couldnt get enuff uranium in time for the test in Siberia.
