Tsar Bomba

This is the actual Tsar Bomba footage of the Russian test in 1961. To date it is the largest nuke ever tested, 50 megatons. Although the US claims it had spy devices that measured it at 57.The scariest thing is the actual design was capable of 100, it had to be scaled down for the test to be 'safe'.
Thanks Arthur (2 sheds) Jackson.

Your source is Wikipedia? Why am I not surprised. Also, here is the last paragraph of your very own exhaustive research:
Oil industry executives, economists, and analysts generally regard Hubbert's peak theory as false. However, Chevron has launched the Will You Join Us ad campaign, seeking to inform the public to the possibility of oil depletion and encourage discussion. In this article Chevron says: "Fossil fuels currently supply most of the world’s energy, and are expected to continue to do so for the foreseeable future.(1) While supplies are currently abundant, they won’t last forever.(2) Oil production is in decline in 33 of the 48 largest oil producing countries, ..." This is a far cry from the imminent doom scenario offered by the more vocal proponents of Hubbert's peak oil theory.

Besides I will probably be dead soon from inhaling all the waste products of our oil consumption.

Guai you're anti-america on anything.

Funny how you turned a video about Russia into an Anti-American bullshit.

I chose wikipedia as it seems to be the most unbiased source on the net. Please show me one that is more unbiased?

There... try that, I'm sure you will think it is totally biased but hey, I guess I should have posted this link first.

I collect nuke test footage and tbh I thought that film of the tsar bomba was unavailable. This clip is awsome, but the huge subtitles spoil it imo. The series is due for repeat ONLY in Canada, perhaps a Canadian user of this site could record the program?

I too believe. In fact, thats what I used to research those names that popped up in that fil about all the "horrible" things America has done. Think it was called America 101.

Too bad the creator of that film didnt research those names before putting them in it.

Bluelight83, here are some links in wikipedia for American war 101:

Chile: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._intervention_in_Chile

Shah of Iran meddling: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Ajax

...

... (do your research)

You must be a dumb shit. All of the data listed in American War 101 is in Wikipedia, I guess you just don't know how to use it, so, don't try and candy coat America's fucked up foreign policy.

Try this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._foreign_interventions_since_1945

No shit. I said it was listed and I also said that the video was ONE SIDED and took things out of context.

There was a whole fucking histroy of those events, yet the video just decided to point out the conclusion to make America look bad.

America doesn't need any help when it comes to looking bad. It's history speaks for itself.
As for the "developing history" in the middle east and the resource war for oil, it looks like it will be documented a little more honestly as humans have access to a wider spectrum of news sources. I'm sure you'll think that it's "one sided" as well, but that is just your patriotism tugging at your heart strings.

As for NuOlin the Nolin, I'm guessing someone in his family works for the oil companies. That is the only reason I can see for using such a corporate logo as an avatar.

No we cannot carry on with the current level of consumption, that whould be why the US are currently plannign an invasion of Iran. FFs, i can't believe you people are so blind. I've explained on multiple posts that, it is not finacially viable to keep extracting the oil at the current rate, which is why the US and Uk are stealing it from other countries.

While there is plenty of oil, its not worth extracting. Its the american way my friend - savages fromt he very beginning

Isn't that just insane??? If they dropped that thing at full yield on New york - *Pittsburgh* becomes a costal city... that's how powerfull it is.

I remember watching a documentary on some other show about the guy who designed the Tsar Bomba, and how theoretically there was almost no limit on the maximum yield of bomb you could build. The materials to make it were readily availiable (At least to a country like the old soviet union) --- You'd just never be able to deliver it anywhere as it would quickly get too big for any plane or missile to deliver. (I think the plane for even this bomb was a one-of-a-kind that was modified specifically for this test) However, if you consider that the super-powers entire cold war nuclear strategy was basically the threat of mutual annihilation, and that some of the early American Fusion bombs were huge immobile labs the size of apartment buildings, it's not much of a stretch to have someone build a "Doomsday device" type of monster bomb on the order of tens or even hundreds of thousands of megatons (!!!!) Detonate something like that and a delivery system becomes irrelevant - you can kiss the planet goodbye!
