Yes that guy was bloody unlucky that his main failed. But they did not tell us that if you get to 800 feet and your shoot has not opened... you reserve will auto open. There is a computer in your rig that's got your back. So even if he had not pulled the reserve he still would have survived. The power line thing happened cos he is a noob and can't control his shoot. Interestingly enough, you have a greater chance of being killed driving your car to work than you do sky diving.

^ Oh Ahumblefuck.. you fuck up yet again. You're wrong about this computer chip. It doesn't exist! My brother in law skydives and does lessons for a living, I know a bit about it champ and I've done it a couple times myself. Don't be an idiot and pretend to know shit.

Now perhaps there is some place that has this system, however I am curious as to how the computer chip calculates how far you are from the ground. Don't be an idiot dip shit!. And the power line thing, yeah it's because he was unexerianced and couldn't steer right.

... Should I even comment on that? You claim to know stuff but you don't know how air pressure works?

Anyway... Yes that dude was lucky to survive. But with equipment incorrectly setup and landing location badly chosen maybe the cops should have a word or two with the instructors? Criminal negligence perhaps?

I just don't understand that 1 in 10,000 chance thing... How do you calculate the chances of such a thing happening? It is human error... That is like saying "You have a 1 in 10,000 chance of driving into the gas pump." But there are no mathematical factors that influence it, thus it is not mathematically possible to calculate.

Manip, at that level a pressure sensor wouldn't be accurate enough to guage 800 feet v. 1000 feet, etc. Even at the same level there are fluctuations in atmospheric pressures.

Now could there be technology that deploys the reserve at a certain level, that's calibrated every day? Yes I am sure. Is it installed for everyone who skydives? No it is not. Therefore Artemis's main point is correct--that if you fuck up while skydiving, you're fucked.

manip, if you stand on mount everest the air pressure thing will tell you that you are 29 000 feet up in the air but you are still pretty damn close to the ground.
